Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Virgin And Child by Maarten van Heemskerck was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 48,034.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maarten van Heemskerck achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Triumph Of Tobias in January 2015 with an auction result of USD 905,000.00 (€ 801,594.33).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Virgin And Child von Maarten van Heemskerck kam im Juli 2019 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 43.750,00 (€ 48.034,59) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Maarten van Heemskerck erzielen.
