Here, the upper estimate of USD 150,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 158,500.00 (€ 115,566.90). Admittedly, works by Maarten van Heemskerck have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Triumph Of Tobias in January 2015 with an auction result of USD 905,000.00 (€ 801,594.33).

Die Arbeit Portrait Of A Gentleman In A Fur-Lined Cloak von Maarten van Heemskerck wurde im Januar 2011 in der Auktion Important Old Master Paintings & Sculpture bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 150.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 158.500,00 (€ 115.566,90) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Maarten van Heemskerck auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Triumph Of Tobias im Januar 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 905.000,00 (€ 801.594,33).
