Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2007 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Modern Chinese Paintings, which included the work Comics by Ma Jun. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 10,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 10,200.00 (€ 971.25) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Ma Jun have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Summer in April 2014 with an auction result of HKD 92,000.00 (€ 8,556.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2007 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Modern Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Comics von Ma Jun zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 10.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 10.200,00 (€ 971,25) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ma Jun auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Summer im April 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 92.000,00 (€ 8.556,60).
