A top price for Ma Jun - as previously expected
The work Summer by Ma Jun was sold in the Chinese Contemporary Ink Paintings II - New Chinese Ink Paintings auction at POLY in Hong Kong in April 2014. The price achieved of HKD 92,000.00 (€ 8,556.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Summer is the most expensive artwork by Ma Jun that we have observed at auctions so far.

Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 92.000,00 (€ 8.556,60) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Summer das teuerste Kunstwerk von Ma Jun, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
