Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2014 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asia+: 20th Century and Contemporary Art, which included the work Unknown by Ma Desheng. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 140,000.00 – 180,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 150,000.00 (€ 13,950.97) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Ma Desheng have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work United Symphony in November 2011 with an auction result of HKD 1,040,000.00 (€ 99,493.05).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2014 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asia+: 20th Century and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Unknown von Ma Desheng zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 140.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 150.000,00 (€ 13.950,97) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ma Desheng auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit United Symphony im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.040.000,00 (€ 99.493,05).
