Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Painting (AS) (#5) Totem by Lynda Benglis was sold in the Contemporary Curated auction at Sothebys in New York in March last year. It changed hands for a price of USD 88,200.00 (€ 79,509.60) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lynda Benglis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Moretti in May last year with an auction result of USD 1,071,000.00 (€ 998,043.05).
