Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%

This artwork by Lydia Masterkova achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in October 2020. In the Escape Artists – The Non-Conformists Online auction, the work without title sold for GBP 2,520.00 (€ 2,798.25) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lydia Masterkova achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in February 2007 with an auction result of GBP 81,600.00 (€ 120,969.07).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Lydia Masterkova erzielte im Oktober 2020 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Escape Artists – The Non-Conformists Online wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für GBP 2.520,00 (€ 2.798,25) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lydia Masterkova erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Februar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 81.600,00 (€ 120.969,07).
