Auction result well in line with expectations
In March last year Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art | and CCA Lagos Benefit Auction, which included the work Members by Lutanda Zemba Luzamba. The price achieved of GBP 5,040.00 (€ 5,975.49) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Lutanda Zemba Luzamba have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Cigars, Cognac and Lemon in November 2021 with an auction result of GBP 27,720.00 (€ 32,545.89).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art | and CCA Lagos Benefit Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Members von Lutanda Zemba Luzamba zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 5.040,00 (€ 5.975,49) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lutanda Zemba Luzamba auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Cigars, Cognac and Lemon im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 27.720,00 (€ 32.545,89).
