This artwork by Luis Geraldes achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2014. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art auction, the work Black Saturday sold for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,590.57) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Luis Geraldes; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Beginning of Infinity sold at auction in March 2012 with the realized price of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,988.15).
