Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Luis Chan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in December last year. In the Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings auction, the work Under the Sea sold for HKD 239,400.00 (€ 28,688.61) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Luis Chan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Marine Wonderland(Painted in 1978), which sold at auction in October last year for HKD 504,000.00 (€ 64,585.46).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Luis Chan erzielte im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings wurde die Arbeit Under the Sea für HKD 239.400,00 (€ 28.688,61) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 80.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Luis Chan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Marine Wonderland(Painted in 1978) beobachtet, die im Oktober letzten Jahres für HKD 504.000,00 (€ 64.585,46) versteigert wurde.
