This artwork by Luis Chan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May last year. In the Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings auction, the work People in Dreams sold for HKD 289,800.00 (€ 34,405.48) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 150,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Luis Chan; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Marine Wonderland(Painted in 1978) sold at auction in October last year with the realized price of HKD 504,000.00 (€ 64,585.46).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Luis Chan erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings wurde die Arbeit People in Dreams für HKD 289.800,00 (€ 34.405,48) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 150.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Luis Chan; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Marine Wonderland(Painted in 1978) im Oktober letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 504.000,00 (€ 64.585,46).
