Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Royal Yacht Squadron's schooner Sunrise under full sail; and Under reduced sail and riding out the storm by Luigi Roberto was sold in the Maritime auction at Christies in London in May 2008. It changed hands for a price of GBP 750.00 (€ 954.03) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Luigi Roberto - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Greve Frijs under full sail in the Mediterranean; and The Greve Frijs under reduced sail in a swell, which sold at auction in May 2003 for GBP 1,880.00 (€ 2,619.31).

Die Arbeit The Royal Yacht Squadron's schooner Sunrise under full sail; and Under reduced sail and riding out the storm von Luigi Roberto wurde im Mai 2008 in der Auktion Maritime bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 750,00 (€ 954,03) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Luigi Roberto mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Greve Frijs under full sail in the Mediterranean; and The Greve Frijs under reduced sail in a swell beobachtet, die im Mai 2003 für GBP 1.880,00 (€ 2.619,31) versteigert wurde.
