Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Italian Teasing The Cat by Luigi Bechi was sold in the 19th Century European Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in May 2018. The price achieved of GBP 47,500.00 (€ 54,089.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Luigi Bechi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Playing with the kitten, which sold at auction in October 2000 for GBP 91,750.00 (€ 156,826.98).

Die Arbeit Italian Teasing The Cat von Luigi Bechi wurde im Mai 2018 in der Auktion 19th Century European Paintings bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 47.500,00 (€ 54.089,76) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Luigi Bechi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Playing with the kitten beobachtet, die im Oktober 2000 für GBP 91.750,00 (€ 156.826,98) versteigert wurde.
