Despite a disappointment, a good price for Lucien Jonas
In March 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work La Plage À Villers Sur Mer by Lucien Jonas for GBP 13,200.00 (€ 19,428.89). This price was achieved in the auction Impressionist and Modern Art at Sothebys in Olympia and was even below the estimate range of GBP 14,000.00 – 18,000.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, La Plage À Villers Sur Mer is the most expensive artwork by Lucien Jonas that we have observed at auction so far.
