Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Lucas van Valckenborch achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2018. In the Old Masters Evening Sale auction, the work A wooded, river landscape with an angler sold for GBP 512,750.00 (€ 574,905.50) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 250,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lucas van Valckenborch - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Summer: the Harvest ('Le Repas de Paysans'), which sold at auction in April 2007 for USD 2,840,000.00 (€ 2,079,062.96).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Lucas van Valckenborch erzielte im Juli 2018 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit A wooded, river landscape with an angler für GBP 512.750,00 (€ 574.905,50) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 250.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Lucas van Valckenborch mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Summer: the Harvest ('Le Repas de Paysans') beobachtet, die im April 2007 für USD 2.840.000,00 (€ 2.079.062,96) versteigert wurde.
