The »bidding war« ended at GBP 80,500.00 (€ 96,829.02), 34% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lucas van Valckenborch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Summer: the Harvest ('Le Repas de Paysans') in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 2,840,000.00 (€ 2,079,062.96).
