Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Large Abandon with Hatch Marks by Lucas Samaras for USD 7,012.50 (€ 5,798.81). This price was achieved in the auction Modern, Contemporary & Latin American Art at Bonhams in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lucas Samaras achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Box #119 in March 2021 with an auction result of USD 662,500.00 (€ 564,165.89).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Februar 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Large Abandon with Hatch Marks von Lucas Samaras für USD 7.012,50 (€ 5.798,81) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern, Contemporary & Latin American Art bei Bonhams in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lucas Samaras erzielen.
