Sold at the lower estimate price
The work The Archangel Michael and the Rebel Angels (recto); Studies of architecture and a figure (verso) by Luca Giordano was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2019. The result of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,727.53) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Luca Giordano achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Martyrdom of Saint Bartholomew in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 962,500.00 (€ 1,214,015.12).

Die Arbeit The Archangel Michael and the Rebel Angels (recto); Studies of architecture and a figure (verso) von Luca Giordano kam im Dezember 2019 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 4.000,00 (€ 4.727,53) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Luca Giordano erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Martyrdom of Saint Bartholomew im Juli 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 962.500,00 (€ 1.214.015,12).
