Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Luca Carlevarijs could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in February 2013 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture auction, the work Capriccio View Of A Mediterranean Port changed hands for USD 386,500.00 (€ 295,511.89) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. Admittedly, works by Luca Carlevarijs have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Venice: The Rialto Bridge from the North; and The Piazza San Marco in December 2003 with an auction result of GBP 1,125,250.00 (€ 1,593,769.19).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Luca Carlevarijs konnte im Februar 2013 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture wechselte die Arbeit Capriccio View Of A Mediterranean Port für USD 386.500,00 (€ 295.511,89) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 400.000,00 – 600.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Luca Carlevarijs auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Venice: The Rialto Bridge from the North; and The Piazza San Marco im Dezember 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.125.250,00 (€ 1.593.769,19).
