LUC TUYMANS (B. 1958) Transitions A-B-C-D signed and numbered 'Luc Tuymans 17/80' (on the pochette) the complete portfolio of three printed sheets of hard 040 transparent PVC in a printed pochette of hard 040 transparent PVC and a book, loose within the original linen covered portfolio box each sheet: 31 x 43cm. overall: 47.5 x 36 x 7cm. Executed in 2008, this work is number seventeen from an edition of eighty plus ten artist’s proofs, published by Paul Dujardin
Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Luc Tuymans could be acquired at Christies in Amsterdam in November last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Le Jeune, A Collecting Legacy: The Amsterdam No Reserve Edit auction, the work Transitions A-B-C-D changed hands for EUR 2,268.00 - missing the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Luc Tuymans achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mrs. in February 2016 with an auction result of GBP 1,482,500.00 (€ 1,899,640.69).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Luc Tuymans konnte im November letzten Jahres bei Christies in Amsterdam für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Le Jeune, A Collecting Legacy: The Amsterdam No Reserve Edit wechselte die Arbeit Transitions A-B-C-D für EUR 2.268,00 den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Luc Tuymans erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mrs. im Februar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.482.500,00 (€ 1.899.640,69).
