A top price for Louis Stutterheim - as previously expected
In July 2000 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work Peasants on a riverbank by Louis Stutterheim. The price achieved of NLG 7,021.20 (€ 3,086.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as NLG 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Peasants on a riverbank is the most expensive artwork by Louis Stutterheim that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Juli 2000 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Peasants on a riverbank von Louis Stutterheim zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von NLG 7.021,20 (€ 3.086,27) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit NLG 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Peasants on a riverbank das teuerste Kunstwerk von Louis Stutterheim, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
