However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Louis Stutterheim - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Peasants on a riverbank, which sold at auction in July 2000 for NLG 7,021.20 (€ 3,086.27).

Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von NLG 2.232,50 (€ 1.034,00) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 49%. Für andere Arbeiten von Louis Stutterheim mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Peasants on a riverbank beobachtet, die im Juli 2000 für NLG 7.021,20 (€ 3.086,27) versteigert wurde.
