Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of EUR 2,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 2,280.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis Soonius achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Figures At The Beach Near Scheveningen, The Kurhaus In The Distance in October 2007 with an auction result of EUR 27,850.00.

Die Arbeit Sweets and fruit: a street vendor von Louis Soonius kam im September 2005 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 2.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 2.280,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louis Soonius erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Figures At The Beach Near Scheveningen, The Kurhaus In The Distance im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 27.850,00.
