Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Unloading the catch in stormy weather by Louis Meijer was sold in the 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART auction at Christies in Amsterdam in October 2004. It changed hands for a price of EUR 19,120.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Louis Meijer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fisherfolk near beached pinken at dusk in April 2001 with an auction result of NLG 176,250.00 (€ 80,895.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Unloading the catch in stormy weather von Louis Meijer wurde im Oktober 2004 in der Auktion 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 19.120,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Louis Meijer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fisherfolk near beached pinken at dusk im April 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 176.250,00 (€ 80.895,45).
