This artwork by Louis Bosworth Hurt achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in March last year. In the 19th Century and British Impressionist Art auction, the work After the shower - by a West Highland loch sold for GBP 41,500.00 (€ 49,202.92) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Louis Bosworth Hurt; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Loch Lubnaig And Ben Vane sold at auction in August 2006 with the realized price of GBP 55,200.00 (€ 82,085.89).
