This work of art by Louis Aston Knight could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in June 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work La Vieux Lavoir, Normandy changed hands for USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,498.01) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Louis Aston Knight have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Cottage in Spring, Normandy in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 52,875.00 (€ 62,308.51).
