Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sunset Landscape by Louis-Aimé Japy was sold in the 19th Century European Art including Barbizon, Realist and auction at Christies in New York in April 2004. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,755.00 (€ 5,445.57) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Louis-Aimé Japy have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Cattle watering in an extensive lake landscape in January 2011 with an auction result of USD 43,750.00 (€ 31,899.38).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sunset Landscape von Louis-Aimé Japy wurde im April 2004 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art including Barbizon, Realist and bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.755,00 (€ 5.445,57) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Louis-Aimé Japy auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Cattle watering in an extensive lake landscape im Januar 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 31.899,38).
