Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including Baghdadiyat Part IIIraqi Masterpieces from the Jawdat, Madhloom and Selim Collections, which included the work Mosque by Lorna Selim. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 6,375.00 (€ 7,484.85). Admittedly, works by Lorna Selim have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Baghdadiyat in June 2020 with an auction result of GBP 52,562.00 (€ 57,887.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2021 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including Baghdadiyat Part IIIraqi Masterpieces from the Jawdat, Madhloom and Selim Collections durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mosque von Lorna Selim zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 6.375,00 (€ 7.484,85) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lorna Selim auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Baghdadiyat im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 52.562,00 (€ 57.887,93).
