In May this year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art, which included the work Baghdadiyat by Lorna Selim. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 10,880.00 (€ 12,658.95), 55% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Lorna Selim have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Baghdadiyat in June 2020 with an auction result of GBP 52,562.00 (€ 57,887.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 55 % übertroffen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Baghdadiyat von Lorna Selim zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 10.880,00 (€ 12.658,95) und damit 55% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lorna Selim auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Baghdadiyat im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 52.562,00 (€ 57.887,93).
