Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Direct Shot by Loie Hollowell was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session auction at Phillips in New York in November this year. The price achieved of USD 35,560.00 (€ 32,599.93) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Loie Hollowell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Linked Lingams (yellow, green, blue, purple, pink) in June 2021 with an auction result of HKD 16,510,000.00 (€ 1,793,414.08).

Die Arbeit Direct Shot von Loie Hollowell wurde im November diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 35.560,00 (€ 32.599,93) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Loie Hollowell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Linked Lingams (yellow, green, blue, purple, pink) im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 16.510.000,00 (€ 1.793.414,08).
