Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Christies in New York held the auction Made in Holland: Celebrating 50 Years of Christie’s Amsterdam, which included the work A winterlandscape with skaters on the ice near a koek-en-zopie, Utrecht in the distance by Lodewijk Johannes Kleijn. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 8,190.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Lodewijk Johannes Kleijn have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Skaters on a frozen waterway, a mansion beyond in April 2001 with an auction result of NLG 152,750.00 (€ 70,109.39).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Made in Holland: Celebrating 50 Years of Christie’s Amsterdam durch, in der auch die Arbeit A winterlandscape with skaters on the ice near a koek-en-zopie, Utrecht in the distance von Lodewijk Johannes Kleijn zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 8.190,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lodewijk Johannes Kleijn auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Skaters on a frozen waterway, a mansion beyond im April 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 152.750,00 (€ 70.109,39).
