Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A winter landscape with skaters on a frozen river, Haarlem in the distance by Lodewijk Johannes Kleijn was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 3,750.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lodewijk Johannes Kleijn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Skaters on a frozen waterway, a mansion beyond in April 2001 with an auction result of NLG 152,750.00 (€ 70,109.39).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A winter landscape with skaters on a frozen river, Haarlem in the distance von Lodewijk Johannes Kleijn im Mai 2016 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 3.750,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lodewijk Johannes Kleijn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Skaters on a frozen waterway, a mansion beyond im April 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 152.750,00 (€ 70.109,39).
