This artwork by Llewellyn Petley Jones achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2008. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work The Thames at Twickenham sold for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,570.31) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 600.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Llewellyn Petley Jones; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot View from the artist's studio, Park Road, Richmond sold at auction in March 2008 with the realized price of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,884.37).
