Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Strand-on-the-Green, before Kew Bridge by Llewellyn Petley Jones was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2010, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 375.00 (€ 432.38). Admittedly, works by Llewellyn Petley Jones have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View from the artist's studio, Park Road, Richmond in March 2008 with an auction result of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,884.37).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Strand-on-the-Green, before Kew Bridge von Llewellyn Petley Jones im Oktober 2010 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 375,00 (€ 432,38) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Llewellyn Petley Jones auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit View from the artist's studio, Park Road, Richmond im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.500,00 (€ 1.884,37).
