Auction result misses estimated price range
In May last year a collector was able to acquire the work A Girl from Yianjing Working in a Textile Mill, Hetien Xianjiang Province by Liu Zheng for GBP 252.00 (€ 296.45). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Discoveries at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Liu Zheng achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Opera Series in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 20,000.00 (€ 14,203.54).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A Girl from Yianjing Working in a Textile Mill, Hetien Xianjiang Province von Liu Zheng für GBP 252,00 (€ 296,45) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Discoveries bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Liu Zheng erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Opera Series im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 14.203,54).
