In October 2015 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Asian Art, which included the work Peking Opera Series: Muke Village & My Countrymen Series: A Performing Troupe (Two Works) by Liu Zheng. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 50,000.00 (€ 5,841.33), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Liu Zheng - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Opera Series, which sold at auction in September 2008 for USD 20,000.00 (€ 14,203.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2015 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Peking Opera Series: Muke Village & My Countrymen Series: A Performing Troupe (Two Works) von Liu Zheng zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 50.000,00 (€ 5.841,33) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Liu Zheng mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Opera Series beobachtet, die im September 2008 für USD 20.000,00 (€ 14.203,54) versteigert wurde.
