Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2004 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours including Original, which included the work The harvesters by Lionel Percy Smythe. The price achieved of GBP 3,585.00 (€ 5,417.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lionel Percy Smythe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Boulogne Fisher-Folk, An Impression in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 78,500.00 (€ 106,668.18).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours including Original durch, in der auch die Arbeit The harvesters von Lionel Percy Smythe zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.585,00 (€ 5.417,72) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lionel Percy Smythe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Boulogne Fisher-Folk, An Impression im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 78.500,00 (€ 106.668,18).
