Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Mending Nets by Lionel Percy Smythe for GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,599.83). This price was achieved in the auction An Aesthetic Odyssey: The Peter Rose and Albert Gallichan Collection at Christies and was even below the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lionel Percy Smythe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Boulogne Fisher-Folk, An Impression in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 78,500.00 (€ 106,668.18).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Mending Nets von Lionel Percy Smythe für GBP 1.375,00 (€ 1.599,83) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion An Aesthetic Odyssey: The Peter Rose and Albert Gallichan Collection bei Christies erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lionel Percy Smythe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Boulogne Fisher-Folk, An Impression im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 78.500,00 (€ 106.668,18).
