Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work The Farmyard at the Château d'Honvault, Wimereux by Lionel Percy Smythe for GBP 1,792.50 (€ 2,667.78). This price was achieved in the auction British Art on Paper including Victorian Watercolours from at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lionel Percy Smythe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Boulogne Fisher-Folk, An Impression in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 78,500.00 (€ 106,668.18).

Im Juni 2004 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Farmyard at the Château d'Honvault, Wimereux von Lionel Percy Smythe für GBP 1.792,50 (€ 2.667,78) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British Art on Paper including Victorian Watercolours from bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lionel Percy Smythe erzielen.
