Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Lionel Percy Smythe could be acquired at Christies in London in June 2004 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British Art on Paper including Victorian Watercolours from auction, the work Sea Nymphs changed hands for GBP 2,390.00 (€ 3,557.04) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lionel Percy Smythe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Boulogne Fisher-Folk, An Impression in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 78,500.00 (€ 106,668.18).
