Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work Children playing playing with a greyhound at the edge of a meadow by Lionel Percy Smythe for GBP 1,792.50 (€ 2,667.78). This price was achieved in the auction British Art on Paper including Victorian Watercolours from at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lionel Percy Smythe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Boulogne Fisher-Folk, An Impression in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 78,500.00 (€ 106,668.18).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juni 2004 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Children playing playing with a greyhound at the edge of a meadow von Lionel Percy Smythe für GBP 1.792,50 (€ 2.667,78) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British Art on Paper including Victorian Watercolours from bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00.
