Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work Rose covered trellis in a summer garden by Lilian Stannard for GBP 1,410.00 (€ 2,159.58). This price was achieved in the auction British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lilian Stannard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Leading To The Orchard, which sold at auction in June 2001 for GBP 4,935.00 (€ 8,198.02).

Im Januar 2003 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Rose covered trellis in a summer garden von Lilian Stannard für GBP 1.410,00 (€ 2.159,58) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Lilian Stannard mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Leading To The Orchard beobachtet, die im Juni 2001 für GBP 4.935,00 (€ 8.198,02) versteigert wurde.
