Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2010 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian Contemporary Art and Chinese 20th Century Art(Evening Sale), which included the work The Nude by Liao Chi-Chun. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 1,200,000.00 – 2,400,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 1,460,000.00 (€ 151,677.58) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Liao Chi-Chun achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Garden in May 2008 with an auction result of HKD 35,047,500.00 (€ 2,885,337.24).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2010 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian Contemporary Art and Chinese 20th Century Art(Evening Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Nude von Liao Chi-Chun zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 1.200.000,00 – 2.400.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 1.460.000,00 (€ 151.677,58) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Liao Chi-Chun erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Garden im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 35.047.500,00 (€ 2.885.337,24).
