The work The Cloud Sea by Liao Chi-Chun was sold in the 20th Century Chinese Art auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2006. It achieved a price of HKD 2,808,000.00 (€ 272,308.88), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 56%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Liao Chi-Chun achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Garden in May 2008 with an auction result of HKD 35,047,500.00 (€ 2,885,337.24).

Die Arbeit The Cloud Sea von Liao Chi-Chun wurde im November 2006 in der Auktion 20th Century Chinese Art bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 2.808.000,00 (€ 272.308,88) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 56%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Liao Chi-Chun erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Garden im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 35.047.500,00 (€ 2.885.337,24).
