The work Flowers by Liao Chi-Chun was sold in the Asian Contemporary Art and Chinese 20th Century Art(Evening Sale) auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2010. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 2,900,000.00 (€ 301,277.39), 32% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Liao Chi-Chun have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Garden in May 2008 with an auction result of HKD 35,047,500.00 (€ 2,885,337.24).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 32 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Flowers von Liao Chi-Chun wurde im Mai 2010 in der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art and Chinese 20th Century Art(Evening Sale) bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 2.900.000,00 (€ 301.277,39) und damit 32% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Liao Chi-Chun auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Garden im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 35.047.500,00 (€ 2.885.337,24).
