Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2018 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Chinese Contemporary Ink, which included the work Moon Over Mountain Abode by Li Xubai. It changed hands for a price of HKD 75,000.00 (€ 8,194.09) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Li Xubai have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Spring After Snow in April 2016 with an auction result of HKD 500,000.00 (€ 56,332.49).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2018 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Chinese Contemporary Ink durch, in der auch die Arbeit Moon Over Mountain Abode von Li Xubai zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 75.000,00 (€ 8.194,09) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Li Xubai auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Spring After Snow im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 500.000,00 (€ 56.332,49).
