This artwork by Li Xubai achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2017. In the Chinese Contemporary Ink auction, the work Dawn on Mountain sold for HKD 225,000.00 (€ 25,691.97) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 90,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Li Xubai - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Spring After Snow, which sold at auction in April 2016 for HKD 500,000.00 (€ 56,332.49).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Li Xubai erzielte im Mai 2017 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Chinese Contemporary Ink wurde die Arbeit Dawn on Mountain für HKD 225.000,00 (€ 25.691,97) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 90.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Li Xubai mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Spring After Snow beobachtet, die im April 2016 für HKD 500.000,00 (€ 56.332,49) versteigert wurde.
