Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2016 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Chinese Contemporary Ink, which included the work Clouds Rising Over Sunset Mountains by Li Xubai. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 200,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 225,000.00 (€ 26,005.84). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Li Xubai - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Spring After Snow, which sold at auction in April 2016 for HKD 500,000.00 (€ 56,332.49).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2016 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Chinese Contemporary Ink durch, in der auch die Arbeit Clouds Rising Over Sunset Mountains von Li Xubai zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 200.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 225.000,00 (€ 26.005,84) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Li Xubai mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Spring After Snow beobachtet, die im April 2016 für HKD 500.000,00 (€ 56.332,49) versteigert wurde.
