Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Lc Glacier (Quadriptych) by Li Tianbing was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 600,000.00 – 800,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 525,000.00 (€ 54,050.28). Admittedly, works by Li Tianbing have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Image Collective Devant La Porte in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 180,500.00 (€ 245,268.88).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Lc Glacier (Quadriptych) von Li Tianbing im Oktober 2014 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 600.000,00 – 800.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 525.000,00 (€ 54.050,28) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Li Tianbing auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Image Collective Devant La Porte im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 180.500,00 (€ 245.268,88).
