A top price for Li Hongzhang
When the work Calligraphy by Li Hongzhang was auctioned at POLY in Hong Kong in April 2013, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 180,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than five times as high at HKD 1,035,000.00 (€ 101,314.93). This high result makes Calligraphy the most expensive artwork by Li Hongzhang that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis für Li Hongzhang
Als die Arbeit Calligraphy von Li Hongzhang im April 2013 bei POLY in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 180.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 1.035.000,00 (€ 101.314,93) mehr als fünfmal so hoch. Dieses hohe Ergebnis macht Calligraphy zu dem teuersten Kunstwerk von Li Hongzhang, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
